Tell Us A Little Something About Yourself

Mum of 3 little ones (not at school yet!) with Silicone Jewellery being a side hustle small business. Grateful to have a creative outlet that I am passionate about.

What Inspired You To Start Your Own Business?

Silicone Jewellery was established in 2015 six months after I had my oldest son and discovered my love for creating with silicone beads. I started with necklaces for other mums that were popular at the time as nursing necklaces.

What Does Your Business Offer, And What Makes It Unique?

I have since expanded my business mainly creating silicone & wood beaded lanyards, keyrings, car diffusers and baby products such as dummy clips & teethers. My business also offers customisation of designs & personalisation.

What Does Your Journey Look Like?

Started in 2015 where I focused on the trend at the time being silicone necklaces to creating other products that has become popular with lots of time and dedication spent on getting my dummy clips & teethers certified compliant to safety standards. I couldn't have done all of this without the help of my husband and family to allow me to focus on my business as well to get it where it is today.

Did You Always Think You'd Be Doing This?

Prior to 2015 no, I was busy working within a few different industries after studying full time at uni. I currently also work part time in the health field. I think I always wanted to have a creative outlet and when i started on this business it all felt right like it was meant for me.

What Are The Most Rewarding And Challenging Parts Of Your Job And Owning Your Own Business?

I love customer satisfaction and repeat buyers. I love creating new designs and supporting other Aussie small businesses as well. Challenging parts are of course juggling everything as some days/weeks can get quite busy being a mum of young kids however I like the challenge and making things work.

Whats Your End Goal? The Moment You'll Know You've Achieved What You Want To?

I don't think i have an end goal. I want to keep creating and hopefully new products especially baby items will be in the works.
