Tell Us A Little Something About Yourself

Mia Skin was started during Covid Lockdown by 3 sisters, 2 in the UK and 1 here in Australia. Mia Skin launched its first product in October, an Australian Pink Clay Mask, with other products set to launch later in the year. Our mask is 100% Vegan free, cruelty free and contains no preservatives, with all natural ingredients. We couldn't be more excited about our recent launch.

What Inspired You To Start Your Own Business?

Mia started as a conversation between my 2 sisters and I as we all had our jobs put on hold. The conversation turned into reality when we decided to actually act on our dream. My youngest sister is a qualified beautician and we decided to go with a product that made people feel good. Something everyone needs at the moment.

What Does Your Business Offer, And What Makes It Unique?

Our business offers a product that is 100% Vegan, Cruelty free, with no preservatives, no synthetics, Australian made with all natural ingredients.

What Does Your Journey Look Like?

It began on zoom when we were worried how our futures would look like as covid continued to change our jobs. As we only just launched its hard to say where we’ll go but it sure has been a great distraction for us, plus a fun diversion whilst in lockdown. We have plans to extend our range, and also to donate a percentage of the sale of each product to Breast Cancer research as we have had 2 close family members who have been through breast cancer. We are just in the process of sorting this out so haven’t made an announcement regarding this yet. Excited to see where it goes.

Did You Always Think You'd Be Doing This?

We were all in different careers before we started Mia Skin. I am a visual artist in Sydney, my eldest sister is a children’s play therapist in the UK and of course my youngest sister is a qualified beauty therapist also in the UK. We were all following our hearts, but also wanted to give back as well as starting a company together across the two countries. With that, Mia Skin UK and Mia Skin Aus were born.

What Are The Most Rewarding And Challenging Parts Of Your Job And Owning Your Own Business?

So far it’s been the journey of discussion between the three of us, watching and learning from each other. It’s been inspiring to see what each sister is capable of and what each brings to the table in regards to business ideas, creative ideas, and product ideas.

The challenging aspect has been getting the product from Australia to the UK during Covid! Things seem to get lost in the post a lot in the UK!!

Whats Your End Goal? The Moment You'll Know You've Achieved What You Want To?

Our end goal will be to continue to supply great natural products but also be able to donate money to Breast Cancer Research.
